Our 20 Acre signature vineyard, the Ambassador Vineyard is located on the Southern slope of Red Mountain. Just below Col Solare, and directly East of Ciel du Cheval, Ambassador lies at approximately 725' above sea level. The vines can be seen from Ambassador Road between Sunset Road and Antinori Way. Planted in 2005, The North block contains Cabernet Franc #56, Syrah clones from Tablas Creek and Joseph Phelps, and Cabernet Sauvignon #4 and #24. Soil Types and Calcium Carbonate Content %; Hezel loamy fine sand 9%, Warden silt loam 14% Cabernet #32 and #33 are also planted in extremely limited quantities in the South block. These two new clones are hybrids commissioned from Foundation Plant Services at UC Davis in the winter of 2004.
